Abdominal Pain

Abdominal pain, also known as stomach ache, is a common symptom faced by people at some time or other. Mostly it is not a serious issue and can easily be cured. The pain can include anatomical regions like small intestine, colon, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and stomach. Since most causes for stomach ache are not serious, they are not referred to doctors. These causes include indigestion, constipation, gas, food poisoning, ulcers, acid reflux, menstrual cramps etc. If the pain continues to persist and the following symptoms also appear, then a doctor or some other medical expert should be consulted.

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Vomiting blood
  • Fever
  • The pain continues to last for several days
  • Urination becomes painful
  • Having difficulty eating and keeping food down
  • Not being able to pass stool
  • Tender abdomen
  • Stomach ache during pregnancy
